How to get to the SF Botanical Gardens
Getting to the San Francisco Botanical Garden is easy and convenient, whether you’re traveling by car, public transit, or on foot.
By Car:
If you're driving, the garden is located inside Golden Gate Park. From downtown San Francisco, it’s about a 15-minute drive. Take Lincoln Way into Golden Gate Park, and you’ll find parking available nearby. Be sure to check for parking availability, as it can fill up, especially on weekends. There’s also a parking garage close to the garden entrance.
By Public Transit:
If you're taking public transit, the Muni bus is a great option. Lines 5, 7, 21, 33, and 44 all stop near the garden. You can also take the N-Judah Muni Metro to the Judah Street station, then walk a short distance to the garden entrance.
By Bike or Walking:
Golden Gate Park is very bike-friendly, and the botanical garden is just a short walk or bike ride from Ocean Beach, the de Young Museum, and other park landmarks. It’s a great way to enjoy the park on your way there.
